West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind provides specialized education and care for children with special needs for the entire state of West Virginia. Our relationship began with the conceptualization and design of the new Record magazine. Once the magazine and annual report were established, they asked me to design a new logo. Incorporating their iconic Administration building as a sunrise atop a hill, and paying homage to their original logo, I was able to design something that was appreciated by the students, staff, and myself.

Morgantown-based pediatricians approached me to design their logo using a cartoon baby cardinal. After investigating the true meaning of the world cardinal, the look of the West Virginia state bird, and what it means to be a pediatrician, a larger bird caring for a smaller bird seemed to get the message across in a simple and affective way. After this was accomplished it was easy for me to create their new slogan “Caring For Those You Care For The Most.”

304 Dips is the leading West Virginia Auto Color installer of protective automotive dip. The shield that represents the protective feature of the product is also the top view of the hood of the owner’s car. A literal dripping shape was added to give the symbol a more fluid and organic contrast to the hard edged shield. 

CraftBuilt Homes is a new and thriving construction business in Morgantown, WV. Their goal is to beautify neighborhoods with upscale, high-quality homes. The symbol is reflective of the common archways and front entryway of the homes.

When approached by another creative professional to design a logo I knew I would be happy with the relationship and critical feedback. Beth allowed me creative freedom and at the same time provided amazing feedback and criticism. With her logo I was able to dig deep into my classic-style roots and create a symbol that not only utilizes her initials but   also incorporate a subtle hint of figures posing for a portrait.

The database/information systems consultants at Trabachino Consulting are seen as the architect of data manipulation by their clients. Combining an architectural theme along with a high-tech, clean look helped brand them as a cutting-edge business. As in many cases developing a brand often allows a slogan to surface. “Where Innovation Meets Solution.” This message then continued into a letterhead, business cards, and website trabachinoconsulting.com.
